Due to the high demand for emergency room patients and the lack of sufficient ER capacity, UAB Medical Center’s Emergency Department was in desperate need of emergency room capabilities and expanding their ED capacity. UAB is in the process of expanding their current Emergency Department (ED); however, due to the length of time to design and expand their current ED, they needed a temporary solution to meet their current patient demand.

As a perfect solution to this problem, they leased 2 ea. Mobile ED facilities from Mobile Healthcare Facilities. This solution allowed them to successfully meet the patient demand while concurrently building and expanding their current ED department. The addition of the 2 Mobile ED/ER facilities, increased their ED capacity by 50%. Now they can properly treat all of their patients while maintaining their ability to expand their permanent ED.
