  • Amount of blood to be stored.
  • Various terrains these facilities will need to travel over to get to their patients.

Mobile Healthcare Facilities’ Mobile Blood Bank Unit allows our customers a facility to properly draw, analyze and store blood.  Our blood bank is the perfect facility to store a cache or bank of blood or blood components, gathered as a result of blood donations  or collection, stored and preserved for later use in blood transfusions. Our “blood bank” refers to a division of our mobile hospital where the storage of blood product occurs and where proper testing is performed (to reduce the risk of transfusion related adverse events). Our mobile blood bank facility also is a blood collection center, and indeed our mobile hospitals also are able to perform collections.

Units of Whole Blood and Red Blood Cells can both be kept refrigerated at 34 to 43 °F (1 to 6 °C) with maximum permitted storage periods (shelf life) of thirty-five (35) and forty-two (42) days respectively. Our facility also allows for the freezing of Red Blood Cell units when they are buffered with glycerol, but this is an expensive and time-consuming process. Frozen red cells are given an expiration date of up to ten years and are stored at −85 °F (-65 °C) .

The less-dense blood plasma  can also be made into a variety of frozen components, and can be labeled differently based on when it was frozen and what the intended use of the product is. If you freeze the plasma promptly and is intended for transfusion, it is typically labeled as fresh frozen plasma. If it is intended to be made into other products, it is typically labeled as recovered plasma or plasma for fractionation, Cryoprecipitate  can be made from other plasma components.  Our mobile blood bank can keep this plasma at a storage temperature of -22 °F (-30 °C)

Our 40’ (12M) Blood Draw/Blood Bank Facility is based on a straight 40’ (12M) trailer chassis and it is specially designed and integrated as a Mobile Blood Draw/Blood Bank Facility that meets all US Standards.
